Video is a powerful medium permeating all segments of society. With satellite based video distribution and streaming content on the world wide web, the possibilities for future programming (and jobs) are enormous. The need for qualified video personnel is growing daily and the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts is ready to address that need. The VideoWorks program is a comprehensive education covering specific aspects (and career paths) of video production and post production. Upon successful completion of the VideoWorks program
graduates will be qualified to apply for entry level employment in one or more of the following positions: Editing Assistant/E-2 (2nd engineer), Off-Line Video Editor, Camera Operator, Lighting Designer, Grip, Duplication Engineer, CG Operator, Equipment Sales, Installation Technician.

The VideoWorks Production program consists of:

Basic Video Technology 48 hours
Video Camera Technology 48 hours
Lighting for TV and Video 40 hours
Non-Linear Digital Video Editing 68 hours
Character Generation for TV and Video 24 hours
Graphics Design for TV and Video 36 hours

Program consists of 136 hours of lectures and 128 hours of labs for a total 264 hours of instruction. The typical fulltime class is four days a week, four hours per day, for 19 to 22 weeks; part time is two days a week, one four hour per day for 41 to 44 weeks.
